The international Webcoms united working group stayed at the Saari Residence for two weeks in August. During its residency period, the group worked on a free downloadable guidebook explaining how to earn money by making digital comic strips. When the book is finished, it will be available for everyone to download for free.

The daily comic strip is no longer the massively popular medium it once was in the 20th century, but the art form lives on online. As print newspapers continue to shrink, however, the inky iteration is certainly in decline. While you can still find funny pages in your local paper, the serialized adventure comic is a fading memory.
Ah, but what about comic strips? The samples on display here were not picked at random. I read the memorable Gordo Poet, above and On Stage Maximus, below sequences when they first appeared in my daily newspaper — and not to give too much away the stories were not only romantic; they also ended in happy, maturing marriages.
